How screen printing pricing works
Screens and film positives are fixed setup costs. A 3-color print requires 3 screens ($15–$30 each). These setup costs must be divided across the total order quantity.
Garment blanks are usually the largest per-unit material cost. Standard practice is to mark up the blank 40% to 100%.
Production run speed increases as order volume grows. Small runs (under 24 shirts) carry heavy setup per shirt, while large runs (>100 shirts) achieve low unit costs.
Always include squeegee labor, flash-curing time, cleanup/washout labor, and a 2–5% misprint allowance in your total production cost.
