Sizes overlap. A 30×36 in stroller blanket is not a 40×40 receiving square. Stitch density matters more than the name on the pattern.

The gift-price trap
Buyers compare handmade baby blankets to a $35 big-box chenille throw. Your job is not to match that. It is to decide whether this blanket is a product you sell, or a gift you make for people who already love your work.
If a fair price is $140 and your local market tops out at $70, sell a lovey, a hat-and-bootie set, or a pattern. Do not silently work weekends for a nursery you will never see.
How to quote a custom baby blanket
Ask for finished size, yarn brand (or a budget), stitch style and deadline. Time one 4-inch square in that stitch, scale to the blanket, add 15% for borders and ends, then run the calculator.
