How pottery pricing works
Materials include weighed wet clay (plus shrinkage allowance), commercial glazes or dry chemical mixing, and shipping packaging.
Kiln firing costs (electricity in kWh, element wear, shelf kiln wash) must be calculated for both bisque and glaze firings.
A 10%–15% breakage loss allowance is standard to cover drying cracks, kiln explosions, and glaze flaws.

How much does it cost to fire a pottery kiln?
