Box volume uses length × width × depth in inches, converted to US fluid ounces (1 fl oz ≈ 1.8046875 in³).
Cylinder volume uses πr²h. A waste percent increases mixed ounces to mix.

How we calculate this
- Box fl oz = (L × W × D) / 1.8046875
- Cylinder fl oz = (π × (diameter/2)² × depth) / 1.8046875
- Mix with waste = volume × (1 + waste %)
Example
Example: a 4×4×0.5 in coaster mold
8 cubic inches is a little over 4 fl oz before waste. Add 10% waste for cups and scraping.

- Irregular molds: fill with water once, weigh or mark the cup, and save that as your volume.

- Forgetting that 2:1 systems still need the total mixed volume, not only the resin side.
